Latest Artwork: Making Amends

This piece features two hares - captured in a moment of stillness and connection. As an artist, I’m always looking to push the boundaries of my work, and Making Amends is no exception.

One of the most striking aspects is the incredible detail in their fur, which took months to perfect. I used a unique blend of pencils and acrylics to achieve this, with pencils allowing me to create the delicate textures - the fine wisps and soft layers that bring these hares to life.

Spiritual Awakening

This artwork features two foxes, intertwined in a moment that feels both mystical and deeply symbolic. Creating Spiritual Awakening felt like stepping into a new world, one shaped by nature, beauty, and emotion.

It stirred something profound in me. The style is a departure from my previous work, marking a shift both personally and professionally. For me, these foxes represent the beginning of a new chapter.

Thy Will Be Done

This piece features a Lapwing, a bird that holds deep meaning for me and my late husband, Will. We often watched them together on the farm and looked for them on our travels.

Thy Will Be Done is a tribute to him — poignant, personal, and painted as a lasting legacy. It felt only right to honour his life through this bird, captured forever in my art.

Thy Will Be Done represents my darling husband Will. I’ve dedicated this poignant and sentimental piece to him as his lasting legacy. The Lapwing is a very special bird to both of us and we used to watch them on the farm together and always looked for them when we were on our travels.

Watching Over Me

This wildlife artwork features a pair of robins, two of our most beloved native British birds. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t smile when they appear, singing from the trees or flitting through the garden.

After recent personal loss, I created Watching Over Me as a heartfelt tribute. Many believe robins represent the spirits of loved ones, and the gentle posture of this pair suggests one is quietly watching over the other. I’ve included my signature floating feather to symbolise angels, a reminder that we are never truly alone. I poured my heart into this piece and felt close to my darling Will throughout its creation.

Robins are one of our most loved native birds, in fact I don’t know anyone who doesn’t smile when they see these friendly little chaps bobbing around the garden or singing their hearts out in the tree tops.

Soul Mates

This wildlife artwork captures a pair of swallows; remarkable birds we eagerly await each spring as they return from their extraordinary migrations. It never fails to move me how such delicate creatures can endure such a journey.

In recent years, their numbers have sadly declined, making their return feel even more precious. Their melodic calls and graceful flight inspired every brushstroke of Soul Mates.

Painting this piece was bittersweet, but I’m so glad I did. There’s a quiet strength and beauty in these birds that touched my soul, I hope it touches yours too.

Wildlife artwork of two Swallows in playful flight titled Soul Mates by British Wildlife Artist Clare Haggas. Sadly in recent years there has been a huge decline due to many factors and it’s heartbreaking. Swallows make the most beautiful sound as they soar and swoop and I’m constantly in awe of their beauty.

Lady In Waiting

Kingfishers have quickly become a favourite of mine to paint, and this wildlife artwork captures a striking female mid-hover, just moments before she dives for her catch.

Her vibrant blues and fiery orange tones reflect the unmistakable iridescence that makes the kingfisher so extraordinary. A true jewel of the riverbank, and a joy to bring to life in silk and on canvas.

Wildlife artwork of a Kingfisher on water titled Lady In Waiting by British Wildlife Artist Clare Haggas.Kingfishers are fast becoming a firm favourite for me to paint and have been a roaring success with my customers. This beautiful lady is hovering, waiting to pounce on her prey and have her supper. The colours are not only bright but show the magnificent iridescence that only the Kingfisher has.
